
Caramel Apple Betty with Madhuka Powder

Ingredients
- 4 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup
Madhūka Powder - 1/2 cup Unsalted butter cold and diced
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and Madhuka powder.
- Add the diced butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the apples, then half of the crumb mixture. Repeat with the remaining apples and crumb mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the hot Apple Betty.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
